/ Orova Link & QR guide
Using Orova Link & QR
step by step.
From picking a code type to a printed code you can still re-point and measure.
Orova Link & QR lives inside your workspace — the shared space for you and your colleagues. The module has three tabs: Create link & QR, List and Analytics. This guide follows the order you will actually work in: pick a code type, enter the content, style it, then decide whether to keep it static or upgrade it to a dynamic QR.
One principle runs through everything: a static QR bakes its content into the image, so it is free but cannot be changed; a short link with a dynamic QR costs 100 quota per month, and in return you can change the destination after printing and read scans by day, device and region.
01 · Getting started
One module, three tabs
In the workspace menu on the left the module is called Link & QR. Opening it drops you straight into Create link & QR, where new codes are built. The other two tabs are for managing and measuring.
What you can do here
- 1
Three tabs, three jobs. Create link & QR builds new codes. List gathers every code created in the workspace. Analytics shows the scans and clicks for a single code.
- 2
Two kinds of code — choose up front. A static QR bakes the content into the image: free, works forever, but cannot be measured or changed. A dynamic QR comes with a short link of the form orova.vn/l/… : you can re-point it at any time and every visit is counted.
- 3
Quota comes from the workspace wallet. Each short link with its dynamic QR costs 100 quota per month, renewed automatically from the shared workspace wallet. Static QR codes cost no quota.
- 4
Who can do what. A view-only role can read the list and the analytics but sees no Actions button and none of the edit, pause or delete controls. Access follows the permission groups of the workspace.
02 · Static QR
Static QR codes, free
The Create link & QR tab has two steps. Step one picks the Code type, step two fills in the Content. The right-hand column previews the image as you type.
What you can do here
- 1
Pick a code type in step one. Types are grouped four ways: Quick links, Files, Standard payloads and Payments. They include Link, Text, Contact card, Wi-Fi, Email, Phone, SMS, PDF, social platforms, and payment formats such as VietQR, PromptPay, KHQR, Lao QR, PayNow and DuitNow.
- 2
Cannot see the one you need? Search. The Search code types… box above the grid filters by name. If nothing matches you get the line No matching code type.
- 3
Fill in the Content. Every code type has its own fields: Link needs a URL; Wi-Fi needs SSID, Wi-Fi password and Security; Contact card needs Full name, Phone, Email and Company. File types get a Drag and drop, or click to upload box. Picked the wrong one? Use Change code type to go back to the grid.
- 4
Give it a Name you will recognise. The Name field sits at the bottom of the left column. It only shows in your List — it is never printed into the image.
- 5
Press Create static QR code. The button is at the bottom of the left column with the note: Free. Content is fixed once printed — ideal for Wi-Fi, business cards, menus and documents. You stay on the page and the code is saved to the List.
03 · Styling
Customise the QR code — four tabs
The Customise the QR code block sits right under the content fields and has four tabs: Logo, Colours, Shape and Frame. Every change shows immediately in the preview on the right.
What you can do here
- 1
Logo. Four choices: Orova logo, Image logo to upload your own, Text logo to put a few characters in the middle, and No logo. There is a grid of Built-in logos plus two switches, Remove the background behind the logo and Remove the logo.
- 2
Colours. Set QR colour and Background colour, or turn on Gradient and pick a direction — Horizontal, Vertical or Diagonal. There is a Custom colour field for your own hex value and a Transparent background switch.
- 3
Shape. Three grids: Cells for the small modules, Outer eye and Inner eye for the three locator squares in the corners. Styles include Square, Rounded, Round, Spaced, Bars, Diamond, Star, Heart and Leaf, among others.
- 4
Frame. Pick a Frame shape such as Label below, Label above, Ribbon, Speech bubble, Corner brackets or Round frame. Edit the Frame text — SCAN ME by default — then set Frame colour, Frame background, Text colour and the Icon in the text.
- 5
Size and Format, then Download. The right column has a Size field and a Format field grouped three ways: Images with PNG, JPEG, WEBP, TIFF and GIF; Vector with SVG and EPS; and 3D with STL, OBJ and 3MF. Press Render to build the real image, then Download. Choosing JPEG shows the note JPEG doesn't support transparent backgrounds.
- 6
Embed the code in a website. Embed the QR code opens a box with a ready snippet to paste into your site. For a static code the image sits inline in the snippet; for a dynamic code the image follows the code, so changing the destination never means replacing the image.
04 · UTM
Tag with UTM before you share the code
The UTM parameters block only appears for code types whose destination is a URL. This is where you mark the campaign so you can tell later where the traffic came from.
What you can do here
- 1
Open UTM parameters. The block sits under the Content section; click to expand it. Code types without a URL — Wi-Fi or Contact card, say — do not have it.
- 2
Fill in the five fields. Source (utm_source), Medium (utm_medium), Campaign (utm_campaign), Term (utm_term) and Content (utm_content). Leave blank anything you do not use.
- 3
Watch the link update as you type. The Your tagged link line below refreshes on every keystroke and comes with a Copy button, so you can lift the full tagged address in one go.
- 4
The tags travel with the code. The in-app note says it plainly: Added to the destination URL to track campaigns in Google Analytics. On a dynamic QR the same tags come back in Analytics as three tables — Source, Medium and Campaign.
05 · Dynamic QR
Dynamic QR and short link
Two buttons of equal size sit side by side at the bottom of the left column. The second one is Create dynamic QR & short link — one charge covers both the link and the code.
What you can do here
- 1
Read the note under the button. The app spells out four things: change the destination anytime, no reprint needed; short link orova.vn/l/… ; track clicks by day, device and region; 100 quota per month.
- 2
Confirm the quota charge. The Confirm dynamic QR box states what is charged now, what is charged every month to keep it alive, and your current wallet balance. The code is only created once you press Confirm and create.
- 3
Copy the new link. Your short link appears in the right column with a Copy button. That address is what you share, and it is exactly what the QR image encodes.
- 4
Only URL code types can be upgraded. Press the button on a type without a destination URL and the app says: Only code types with a URL can be upgraded to a dynamic QR.
- 5
Change the destination after printing. Go to the List tab and press Edit destination on the row. Change the Destination URL, adjust the UTM tags, add Notes, then press Save changes. Everything already printed stays valid.
- 6
Send each device to the right store. The App stores block in the form has three fields: App Store link, Google Play link and Fallback link. A dynamic code opens the right store for the device that scans it.
06 · List
The List — every code in one table
The List tab merges all three kinds into a single table: Link + QR, Static QR and Legacy /s/. Columns run from row number and thumbnail through Name, Type, Destination, Scans, Status, creation date and the action buttons.
What you can do here
- 1
Search inside the table. Search by name, code or destination… filters in the browser as you type. The table is not paginated, so there is nothing to click through.
- 2
Turn on selection with the Actions button. Checkboxes are hidden by default to keep the table calm. Press Actions in the toolbar and every row gets one; the button itself turns black so you can see selection mode is on.
- 3
Work in bulk. Once rows are ticked, a floating bar at the bottom of the screen shows how many are selected along with Pause, Activate and Delete, plus Select all and Clear. The app asks for confirmation before applying.
- 4
Enlarge a code to inspect it. Click the QR thumbnail at the start of a row to see it large. Click the backdrop or press Esc to close.
- 5
Per-row buttons. Depending on the kind of code you get Download QR, Analytics, Edit destination, Pause or Activate, and Delete. Static rows print a dash in the Scans column rather than a zero, because a printed static code cannot be measured.
- 6
Opening a static code shows read-only content. The app is explicit: A static code's content is baked into the image and cannot be changed — create a new code instead. Here you can change the name and the styling.
07 · Analytics
Scans and clicks
The Analytics tab reads the numbers for one code over one date range. Automated scanners are filtered out and times are shown in your local business hours.
What you can do here
- 1
Pick the code. The code selector in the toolbar has a search box — type a name or a code. Pressing Analytics on a row in the List brings you straight here with that code selected.
- 2
Pick the date range. Choose one of the presets, or open the calendar and set From and To. Every tile, chart and table below follows this range.
- 3
Four number tiles. Total scans, Unique scans, Today and 7 days.
- 4
Two charts. By day shows the shape of the range you picked; Hour of day shows which hours people actually scan.
- 5
Nine ranking tables. Device, Operating system, Browser, Country, Region/City, Referrer, then three UTM tables — Source, Medium and Campaign. Each table shows the top eight rows.
- 6
Recent scans and Export CSV. The last table lists Time, IP, Device, Location and Referrer for each hit; rows from automated scanners are marked Bots filtered out. Export CSV downloads exactly the range you are filtering on.
- 7
The combined Link & QR analytics table. At the bottom, one table lists every code in the workspace with Type, QR code, Clicks / scans, 7 days, 30 days and Recent scans — a fast way to see which code is working.
08 · Tips
Tips and limits worth knowing
A few places where new users trip. Reading them first saves reprinting a stack of flyers.
What you can do here
- 1
Once printed, a static code's content is fixed. You can only change the name and the styling. If the destination might move later — a promo page, a seasonal menu — choose a dynamic QR from the start.
- 2
Legacy /s/ codes still work. Codes made before Link and QR merged use the form orova.vn/s/… , keep their address, are still measured, and still appear in the List labelled Legacy /s/. New codes use orova.vn/l/…
- 3
An empty wallet blocks new codes. The app says: Your wallet doesn't have the 100 quota needed to create or renew this code. Top up and try again. The wallet is shared with the other modules in the same workspace.
- 4
Destinations need the full address. Leave out the scheme and the app answers: That link isn't valid. Enter a URL starting with http:// or https://
- 5
Pick the format for where it will be used. Need a transparent background? Take PNG or SVG, not JPEG. Printing large? Take SVG or EPS, since they stay sharp at any size.
- 6
Pause rather than delete. While paused, anyone scanning sees This QR code is paused, and you can switch it back on whenever you like. Deleting is final: anyone opening the old link will no longer reach the destination.
