/ Orova Insight guide
Using Orova Insight
step by step.
One whole report, end to end — from the first data source to something you can send the whole team.
Orova Insight lives inside a workspace — the shared space where you and your colleagues work. Opening the module shows your list of reports; everything else happens inside the report editor. This guide follows the order you will actually work in: create a report, connect the sources, build the charts, add your own metrics, get a hand from the AI, then share it.
One principle runs through all of it: the data is yours, Orova only gathers it. The AI reads only the sources you connected to that report, and anything it draws can be edited afterwards.
01 · Reports
Start from the report list
Opening Orova Insight takes you straight to the workspace's list of reports. The top row splits them into groups, each with a count so you can see what sits where.
What you can do here
- 1
Five groups in the list. Recent, Shared with me, Owned by me, Trash and Templates. Every row shows the name, the id, the owner, the creation date and when it was last edited.
- 2
Create a report in one move. Press Create report and Orova makes an empty report and opens the editor right away. There is no form to fill in — the name and the cover picture can be changed later.
- 3
Or start from a ready-made template. Open the Templates group: each template has a preview image and a short description. Press + Use this template and you have a working report — just point it at your own sources.
- 4
Find and tidy up. The search box filters by name as you type. Each row has buttons to open in edit mode, to Share and to delete. Deleted reports land in Trash, where you can Restore or Delete permanently.
02 · Data sources
Connecting your data
A new report has no numbers in it yet. Press Add data on the toolbar, or open the Resources menu and pick Add data, to bring up the Add data to the report dialog.
What you can do here
- 1
Sixteen source types, grouped by platform. Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, Google Sheets; Facebook Page, Meta Ads, Instagram, Threads; TikTok Ads, TikTok Channel; Zalo OA; YouTube; LinkedIn Page, LinkedIn Ads; Excel / CSV file; Custom API.
- 2
Sign in on the platform itself, then pick the account. Each source connects through that platform's own sign-in, so no password ever reaches Orova. Once connected, choose the property, site, page, ad account or channel you want. Disconnect stops it again.
- 3
Spreadsheets and loose files. Google Sheets is picked straight from Drive. For files, press Upload file with .csv, .xlsx, .xls or .numbers. Three switches sit next to it — Replace all, Multi-level table and Merge tabs — plus History for the last few loads.
- 4
Your own systems through the Custom API. Each source gets its own Data receiving URL and Secret key, and you can issue a new key at any time. Your system posts JSON in, or Orova pulls it from an address you give. There is also a sample payload, Declare fields, History and Clear data.
- 5
Update and auto-sync. The Update button pulls fresh numbers straight away. Next to it, Auto-sync offers off, every 30 minutes, hourly, every 3, 6 or 12 hours, or once a day — with the time of the last sync underneath.
03 · Building
Building the report on the canvas
The editor is a free canvas. Along the top sit the File, Edit, View, Insert, Page, Arrange, Resources, Use AI and Help menus. On the right are four tabs: Data, Layers, Properties and Style.
What you can do here
- 1
Drag fields from the Data column. The Data column groups fields by source and by account. Drag a field onto the canvas and it becomes a chart; drop it onto an existing chart and it joins that one.
- 2
Insert the chart you want. The Insert menu and the Add chart button offer time series, bar, distribution, combo, pie, table, pivot table, scorecard, scatter, bullet, area, stacked area, gauge, the map family, nested visualisation and Sankey. Each type has further variants in the Style tab.
- 3
Add controls for your readers. The Control button places a drop-down list, a fixed list, a search box, an advanced filter, a slider, a checkbox, a preset value filter, a date range control, a data control, a time column control and a button. Readers slice the report themselves, so you don't build a second version.
- 4
Many pages, any size. The Page menu holds New page, duplicate, delete and Page settings for the name and the size in pixels. The page bar at the bottom of the screen moves you between pages.
- 5
Arrange and dress it up. The Arrange menu brings widgets forward or back, aligns them and groups them. The Insert menu also has text boxes, images, lines, shapes and embedded content. For your company's own typeface, open Resources and then Font library.
04 · Metrics
Metrics and formulas of your own
When the built-in numbers are not enough, press Blend on the toolbar (or Resources, then Blend data). The Blend data dialog has two tabs: Calculated field and Blend sources.
What you can do here
- 1
Calculated field. Combine existing metrics into a new one — a blended cost, a margin, a ratio between two channels. It then behaves like a native field in any chart.
- 2
Blend sources. Join several sources into one table so a single chart can read numbers from more than one place, instead of one chart per source.
- 3
Text columns become numbers too. Text fields such as owner, team or status can be aggregated: Count distinct, Count all, Most frequent, Latest, Earliest. The last two only appear when the source has a date column.
- 4
Format each field. The Field format box sets decimals, compact notation, financial style, whether the unit goes before or after, how the field is aggregated, and how it compares with the previous period or the same period last year.
05 · Use AI
Let the AI draw the chart
Use AI sits on the menu row, and right-clicking the canvas offers Draw a chart with AI. You describe what you want in ordinary words and the AI builds the chart on the page you have open.
What you can do here
- 1
Ask in plain language. For example: chart this month's website sessions against last month. The AI picks the chart type, the source, the metric and the date range, including a comparison with the same period last year.
- 2
It only reads sources connected to the report. It never goes looking for numbers elsewhere. If the report has no source connected yet, it tells you to press Add data first.
- 3
One chart per request. Each request produces exactly one chart and uses quota. What comes out is an ordinary widget: change the type, the colour, the metric, or delete it.
- 4
What the AI won't do on its own. If the request needs several sources merged into one number, it says so plainly and points you to Blend data or a calculated field.
